"Cruising The Caribbean" - Sailing The Windward Islands & The Grenadines

In St. Maarten we said goodbye to Ross' sister and family and hello to one of Ross' sailing buddies, Carl from British Columbia, Canada.  Carl lives on an small Island just north of Vancouver, and is an avid sailor. So we have lots of experience on board at the moment. We left St. Maarten on January 16th. at 3am heading for Bequia, but alas the winds were not in our favor, so after sailing a little and motoring (Using the Engines) for 17 hours we decided to stop at St. Lucia. After another full night sailing, this was a good move. We arrived in Marigot Harbor in St. Lucia at 4pm. on the 17th. Supper ashore at the Beach Club was definitely called for. We left Marigot for Admiralty Bay, Bequia early January 19th. We sailed past the Pitons on St. Lucia which were certainly an exquisite sight. Unfortunately we had no wind, so we had to motor all the way. On January 21st. we set sail again for the remote Islands of Tobago Cays, like Bequia Tobago Cays is part of the Grenadines. Tobago Cays is picture perfect, everything one would expect a Caribbean anchorage to be, including crystal clear turquoise waters, and lots of sun. On the 23rd. we left paradise for Bequia once again to stock up on some food and on the 24th. headed back to St. Lucia and dropped the pick in the Pitons national park. 26th., next we headed for Martinique and anchored in the town of Port De France, in the shadow of Fort Louis. 27th., working our way north, back "Up Island" our next stop is Roseau, Dominica. We stayed in Roseau for 2 days because Carl wanted to go diving, we visited the town for some nice Caribbean fried chicken. March 1st. we moved on to The Saints for a second visit.

Some photos of our travels around the Islands.
