"Cruising The Caribbean" - Back to the BVI's for the summer

We have spent a great time in St. Maarten and headed back to the British Virgin Islands. The intention is to leave the boat in Tortola for the winter. The weather forecasts for the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica are not good, and as that was our proposed route to Panama, it is just as well we decided to leave the boat in the BVIs. Here are some photos of our return trip from St. Maarten. The highlight was the dolphin escort we picked up along the way.  They graced us with their presence for quite some time before continuing on their merry way. There were about 10 - 15 altogether, however 2 in particular decided to outrun the boat, and stick around and play for a while. Their navigation system appears a lot better than ours, they never hit us once as they swam beneath and around the boat.

Well that is all for now. We are back in Toronto, Canada to spend the summer with the family.  Then our plans are to return to the BVIs in November if all goes well to continue cruising "Down Island" as far as Grenada and Tobago..

Some photos of our travels around the Islands.
