IMP Concepts is proud to offer a Custom Foldable Version 3 Slimline GPS Mast for 3DR Solo. This Mast is designed specifically for use with the Outstanding & Proven ProfiCNC Here & Here + GPS System. This mast allows the Here GPS (and others) to be mounted externally to the Solo, eliminating any interference from the internal Solo electronics which was an issure with the original Solo design.
Now available in forward or rear tilting (Slanting) Variants. This is purely preference as there is no difference in performance. Both masts raise the GPS 53mm above the Solo GPS Cover, provide a 15mm directional tilt, fully clear the props and are collapsible. Both forward and rear slanting masts collapse toward the rear of the Solo and require that the battery be removed when stowed but does not require any backpack modification. However, the Battery MUST be removed for transport. This is not a bad thing as it prevents accidental power on that can overheat the Solo during transportation and damge the gimbal and other components.
The IMP Concepts mast can also be used with any other 3rd Party GPS that has has a flat mounting surface. However, we do recommend the Here GPS from ProfiCNC. The GPS is available from JestersDrones.com and http://3sixty-solutions.com. The Here GPS also offers other benefits such as Status LEDS and Integrated Compass. This allows the OEM compass to be removed from the Rear Leg and put above as it should have been in the first place.

The installation of 3rd party upgraded GPS' has been described in detail in the 3DR FaceBook Groups as well as on YouTube. This listing os for the Foldable Mast Only. The GPS' themselves are held on with 3M DoubleSided Tape that come with the GPS, The Mast base also use 3M Tape as well as optional screws that utilize the existing OEM GPS retaining posts.
For those who do not want to add the ProfiCNC Here GPS at this time, but would like to install their OEM Rev A, Rev B or Upgraded mRo GPS above the Solos Internal Electronics, we have added a GPS Case that is compatible with the OEM and mRo GPS Units. This case can be used with the mast by using 3M Double Sided Tape to attach it. The OEM GPS Cable will need to be cut and extended, and fed though the Acces hole in the mast BEFORE the extensions are Soldered in place as the access holes are designed for the ProfiCNC Here GPS Plug and are too small for the OEM GPS plug to pass through. Custom Holes will still need to be drilled in the OEM GPS Cover and the OEM Battery tray to gain access for the GPS Cable. These GPS Units fit snug into the optional Case, there is a retaining screw holes if needed. The Case Bottom (Cover) is an interference fit. It can be retaineded with M2 x 10mm Countersunk screws, tape or CA Glue if needed. If the Solo is to be stowed in the Backpack or hard case, the battery will need to be removed for the Rear Stowing Variant in order to comfortably fit the Enclosure into them when collapsed. For the Forward Stowing Variant, some foam will need to be trimmed in the backpack in order for the enclosure to fit when the mast is collapsed.
Note: Rear Stowing means the Mast Collapses to the Rear towards the battery when stowed, Forward Stowing means the Mast Collapses Forward when stowed.
This is NOT a complete "Plug & Play" upgrade. Addition parts are required (See Below) and It does require some Technical and Mechanical Skills to implement.
There are 3 Variants available all are provided with Pivot Screw and Nylock Nut:
Addition Parts Required that are NOT Included with this Mast:
Options (Please select from the List):
We recommend using nylock nuts or a little low to medium strength thread locker on the main pivot screw. Do not use high strength otherwise the plastic could get stripped when trying to remove the pivot screw. Please ensure it is tight enough to stop the mast from pivoting on it's own, but NOT so tight it applies undue pressure to Pivot or it may be damaged. Over time the pivot svrew will need to be adjusted very slightly as the base wears in.
Any Screws, Dampers, Cameras, GPS, Lume Cubes & Other Accessories that may be shown in the photos are for clarification only to be used as a guide and are not part of the listing unless ordered separately.
